4th Book Project Due February 27th
Fourth Book Report Project- Due February 27th, 2012
This project has several parts. There are two grades associated with this project, the test grade and the project grade for the Book Review.
You must read one of the following books: Operation Redwood by S. Terrell French or The Penderwicks: A Summer Tale of Four Sisters, Two Rabbits, and a Very Interesting Boy... by Jeanne Birdsall.
1. You need to check a copy of the book out of the library or buy a copy to read at home. I have ordered 20 copies of Operation Redwood for the Barnes and Noble Bookstore across from Tyrone Mall.
2. You will be responsible for taking an in-class test on the book you have chosen to read on February 27th.
3. You will also complete a project on the book which I will detail below. The project will be due on February 27th.
4. For the Project: You will write a book review in 5-paragraph essay format. You need to include the book title and author’s name, a brief one-paragraph summary, and your opinion of the book. Your opinion and whether or not you would recommend the book should take 4 paragraphs because you should give 4 examples of strengths and/or weaknesses in the book with specific quotes or examples from the book. Use the quotes or examples to support your opinion about the book.
5. Tell how many stars you would give the book.
6. Make sure that in the final paragraph, you have a strong ending that repeats your opinion or offers a final comment.
7. Last but not least, you need to create a hand- drawn illustration from the book (construction paper sized or larger) that shows an exciting moment in the book, an interesting character, or draw a book cover. The art work needs to be neat, colorful, and very imaginative.
